Small Prologue

I didn’t know I had this power at that time. I was just a kid, frightened by society. Though ,if fate had let me live it over again, I don’t think I would have unlocked it as I had. Maybe so, though I still wonder. It might not be too late to go back, go back to the beginning, before all of this. Before I knew that I was one of the Legendary Psychics.

Chapter 1 – The Prophecy

My family and I, lived on the left side of a mountain called Canapulis, one of the largest mountains in our land. My father worked for a small guild and my mother would stay at home, and take care of us. I had three siblings all together, two boys and one girl. My sister’s name is Selvina; she was seventeen going on eighteen. She was an excellent archer, and would always want a good challenge. Then there’s my brother, he was a bold and distinguished figure. His name was Eric, and he was much older than my sister and I, as he was going on his twenty-second year of age.
He was always a leading figure and would tell us the right way to go. He was also an expert swordsman, him and father would always try and beat one another, though father always lost. I, on the other hand, am none of those things. I cannot shoot an arrow, I cannot hold a sword, I can’t do any of it.My father tried to figure out what I was good at, but whenever he would test me with something, I’d always fail no matter what it was. I wish I was of more use, I really wish I was though I was always really odd back then, like I didn’t belong.Though, deep inside, I think I always knew, that I was different.

“Beck, your food is getting cold!” my mother said from across the room.

“I’m not hungry, I’m going to take a walk around town, and see if I can’t be an
apprentice somewhere.” I said, while putting on my leather coat.

“Okay dear, just make sure to talk to Sef, I think he wanted to talk to you about something.” she replied back.

“Okay, I’ll be back before the sun falls.” I said as I walked out of my home.

It’s been awhile since I’ve gotten out just breathing. Father has been busy with the guild, and my siblings always have other activities to attend to. I rarely get the chance to get out due to the training my father is trying to give me.He seems to think that I’ll be able to get into the guild after I finish my basic training and studies.Though,Its not that I wouldn’t like to be part of the guild. It’s just; it’s not as exciting like I’d want it to be. I wish to be on some kind of quest, fight a dragon or two, something of that nature.

“Beck my boy, c’me ‘ere, c’me ‘ere!” a man said waving at me.

The man had gray hair, like a wispy tuff at the top of his head. His face was a bit scrunched and he was missing teeth causing him to talk a bit strange.

“Sef, is that you?” I asked, as I had not seen the man, Sef, since my father has joined the guild.

“Oh, so you do remember me?” he said while chuckling.

“I didn’t think Clarissa would even relay the message to you, my boy.” he said while whispering.

“Yeah, it’s been a little while. I’ve been busy with guild training and studies for father.” I said.

“Yes, yes. Your mother tells me how well you’re doing every time she comes to buy from the market.” he said while dusting off his apples.

“She said you had something to –“I was interrupted.

Behind me was a food center, where people would buy food from the market and just sit down to eat and maybe play cards, and such. A man, black thin hair and bony, walked up onto one of the tables, and yelled out,

“The era of the psychics are here, beware the Great War to come, for they will be our hope to a new future, spread the word!”

Moments later, three guards came and took him away.

“What was that about? What did he mean, Great War.?” I asked, puzzled.

“That’s why I brought you here.Have you heard of the rumors lately?” he looked at me with a smile on his face.

“No, what rumors?” I questioned.

“They say that there is a prophecy, in which a psychic, and his followers, will overturn this nation and stop the war between our people, and that of the Ghians.” he said while rummaging through some books.

“But, we are at good terms with the Ghians, why would there be a war?” I asked.

Sef looked at me, turned his eye onto a book and laid it in front of me and said,

“Because, apparently, we have the psychic.” he said smiling at me.

(I felt like I could go on and on and on with this…So I’ll stop here :)  Also, if you haven’t noticed,Sci-fi,and fantasy are my big strong  suits, though I was trying to challenge myself by trying to modernized, but medevil kind of tone/writing.Idk how I’d write it like that, but yeah,I tried }
About a boy destined for something greater than the world himself.
